Clinical Studies
Antisense Pharma dedicates itself to developing new therapies that increase the life expectancy and improve the quality of life of cancer patients. The antisense drug trabedersen (AP 12009), which we have developed, is currently being tested in different clinical studies.
High-grade gliomas (Brain tumors)
The ongoing, international pivotal clinical phase III study, SAPPHIRE, for refractory or recurrent anaplastic astrocytoma (malignant glioma, WHO grade III) has been stopped prematurely, due to slow patient recruitment. For further information on the SAPPHIRE study and the participating study centers, please visit ClinicalTrials.gov.
A study, which will investigate Trabedersen in 1st line treatment of GBM in combination with standard of care, is planned.
Pancreatic carcinoma (Pancreatic cancer)
Patient recruitment for the ongoing phase I/II study of therapy-refractory, adult patients with advanced pancreatic cancer has been completed. For further information on this study, please visit ClinicalTrials.gov.
Antisense Pharma is on track to commence a planned phase II trial for 2nd line pancreatic cancer in 2012, using systemic intravenous delivery, following the excellent survival benefit and safety profile seen in the preceding phase I/II trial, in parallel with the new phase I/II trial for 1st line pancreatic cancer patients, in combination with standard chemotherapy.
Malignant melanoma (Skin cancer)
Patient recruitment for the ongoing phase I/II study of therapy-refractory, adult patients with advanced malignant melanoma has been completed. The first results are very promising. For further information on this study, please visit ClinicalTrials.gov.
Colorectal carcinoma (Colon cancer)
The phase I study of therapy-refractory, adult patients with advanced colon cancer has been completed. For further information on this study, please visit ClinicalTrials.gov.
Please note
We wish to point out that the drug trabedersen is not yet approved for market. For legal reasons, its use is restricted to patients participating in our clinical studies. Trabedersen is not available from Antisense Pharma or any other source, therefore.
